EIMA International will expect to see more than 200,000 visitors walk through its doors, representing 140 countries from across the globe, according to event organisers.

Among the companies participating in the event are AGRAGEX, New Holland, Netafim and AGCO, who all have a presence within Africa’s agricultural sector, selling farming machinery to meet the needs of growers across the continent.

This year’s exhibition has been divided into 14 separate categories, as well as four specialised salons: EIMA Green showcasing gardening and groundskeeping equipment; EIMA Components for components, spare parts and accessories; EIME M.i.A. covering agriculture and the rural environment; and EIMA Energy focused on technologies for bioenergy production chains.

EIMA-2014-Bologna-LemkenAgricultural machinery manufacturer Lemken has joined a host of companies exhibiting at EIMA International this year.Massimo Goldoni, the president of the Italian Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Federation (FederUnacoma), commented, “The agricultural mechanisation market is growing at the world level due to increasing demands from the new economic giants of India, China and Brazil, and the emerging countries of the Far East, Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.”

Goldoni described the 2014 edition of EIMA as the ‘global crossroads’ for the countries manufacturing machinery and technologies for agriculture and grounds, and for countries seeking to use mechanisation as a solution for farming while also meeting various climatic, social and economic conditions.
