On 15 March, the World Bank pledged US$500mn to support Lebanon's vulnerable population and boost the country's agriculture sector

During his meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, World Bank vice president for Middle East and North Africa, Ferid Belhaj, discussed ways to provide support to the country's population during the ongoing economic crisis. In addition to the health and education sectors, Belhaj stated the possibility of increasing investments in Lebanon's agriculture, industry, environment, energy, and economy. 

According to a report by Investing.com, Belhaj mentioned considering an investment of US$100mn to US$150mn in renewable energy projects in Lebanon.
